Hello and welcome to the August edition of your Pharmacy Show Newsletter!
As we approach the end of August and the back-to-school feel of September, the Pharmacy Show team is gearing up for the last few months of preparation and planning for the Pharmacy Show in October – we hope attending is part of your timetable!
In this month’s newsletter, we take a look back at our most recent webinar, where Shilpa Shah (CEO of Community Pharmacy North East London) and Dervis Gurol (Owner of Healthy Pharmacy and Director of the Independent Pharmacy Contractors Network) joined chair Danny Bartlett (Clinical Lead for Primary Care Workforce at NHS England) to explore what the new 10 year health plan means for community pharmacy. Together, they explored how its ambitions align with existing pharmacy capabilities, the risks of inaction, and the strategic moves contractors can make now.
We also look into the recently announced medicines shortages review, launched to scrutinise 'the effectiveness of current strategies to tackle medicine supply issues in England and their resilience in the face of challenges in the procurement, supply and distribution of medicine’.
We look forward to welcoming you to NEC on 12-13 October, in the meantime please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions!
